Somerville’s Preliminary Election is on Tuesday, September 10th, and I need your vote and your help!
When I became mayor, we set a goal of becoming a great place to live, work, play and raise a family. Since that time we have rebuilt and expanded our public parks and athletic fields, installed every mile of bike lane in this city, created PorchFest and Honk!, and made Somerville the most dramatically improved school district in Massachusetts. Now our challenge is to make sure everyone can share in that quality of life. As our city has thrived and become more popular it has put tremendous pressure on the cost to rent and own in Somerville. I am proud of what we have done to address this, but we need even bolder approaches to prevent displacement I will use every means at our disposal to preserve the social and economic diversity of our city.
There are three ways that you can help:
1- Sign up to volunteer. We are knocking on doors, making phone calls, and working on Election Day and we need your help!
2- RSVP to Somerville Preliminary Election event on my Facebook page, and invite anyone you know in Somerville!
3- Make sure you know where to vote! We have two new polling locations in Ward 3 because of the high school construction, so find out where to vote with this tool on the Secretary of State’s website.
